Live Tab randomly went missing today on Google TV (HD)

Our Google TV "Live Tab" is missing at the top randomly today. It is usually there. (Yes we are located in the US. No VPN. No network or settings have changed. Multiple full restarts and power offs.)

Thank you

- Curtis

Hi Curtisbeef,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I am sorry to hear that your Chromecast Google TV (HD) "Live Tab" is missing at the top of the main screen. I appreciate the additional information you provided that will help us to provide you with better assistance. It is my pleasure to help you with this inconvenience.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • Have there been any recent outages?
  • Have you tried to disconnect and reconnect your TV set?
  • Could you please double check if the Chromecast continues to connect to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?
  • When you mention that you restarted and powered off your Chromecast device, do you mean that you performed a factory reset and set it up?
  • Could you please check if your Chromecast with Google TV (HD) device is updated?

Based on the information you’ve shared, I can recommend you try the following troubleshooting steps:

To check your WiFi settings on your TV, follow these steps:

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select the option "Settings.”
  2. Go to the option “Network & Internet.”

To manually download the latest update, follow these steps:

  1. From the Google TV home screen, select the option "Settings.”
  2. Select "System," then the option "About," then “System update," then check for updates.
  3. Install any available updates.
  4. Go and check on the Google TV main screen if you can see the “Live tab.”

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Virna
