Need troubleshooting help

Hello! 

my Google Chromecast remote’s right arrow stopped working. Whether I’m on an app or just in the home screen, it does not like to work. does anyone have any suggestions on how to get it to work? I am unable to return unfortunately. 
I have tried removing batteries and turning off the Chromecast itself. 
any advice is welcome! Thank you!

• When did you first notice the right arrow button not working?
• Were you using the remote in a particular way when this issue started?

• Move the remote closer to the TV.
• Move the Wi-Fi access point away from the Chromecast device.
• Use an HDMI extension cable to move the Chromecast device away from other HDMI cables.
• Move the position of the Chromecast device, then flip it over.
