New Google ChromeCast 4k fails to sign in with Google Account

I've purchased a new Google Chrome Cast 4k and trying to set it up.

The process goes ok with Google Home app, it successfully passes the Wi-Fi connection stage, but fails to sign in with my Google Account.

My Galaxy S23+ phone is initiated with my Google Account and everything work ok. While connecting the Chrome Cast I chose my Google Account and unlock the device with fingerprint (it doesn't prompts for the password, only the phone PIN or fingerprint). After passing the PIN stage the Google Home app (which is already connected to my Google Account) is trying to sign in the new Chrome Cast and fails with a general error "Cannot Sign in, Try Again".

It doesn't provide an additional information regarding the problem, just keeps saying it fails to sign in and gets into infinite loop of "Failure - Try Again - Failure - Try Again..."

My Google Account is ok and I use it everywhere. Don't have any idea what could be the problem.

Please Help!!!

Hi mishasoft,

Thank you for posting here in the community. I'm sorry that your Google Account is not working as expected when connecting your new Chromecast. But no need to worry, help is here.

Here are some troubleshooting steps you can try:

Login Problems:

  • If you're having trouble logging in, double-check your email address and password. You can also try resetting your password in case it was saved incorrectly in your device’s password manager.
  • I understand your account works anywhere else but when setting up your new Chromecast, however you can check the following guide to know How to recover your Google Account or Gmail. Please keep in mind that you will need to do it through a web browser for better results.

App and Device Issues:

  • Check Wi-Fi Connection:
    • Ensure both your Chromecast and your phone are connected to the same Wi-Fi network. A strong and stable Wi-Fi connection is essential for the setup process.
  • Restart Devices:
    • Restart your Chromecast and your phone to refresh their systems. This can sometimes resolve temporary glitches.
  • Google Home App Issues:
    • Try closing and reopening the Google Home app.
    • Update the Google Home app to the latest version.
  • Google Account Verification:
    • Make sure you're using the correct Google account credentials.
    • Try signing out and back into your Google account on your phone.

Additional considerations:

  1. Check for Error Messages: Pay attention to any error messages displayed on the Chromecast or in the Google Home app. These can provide clues about the issue.
  2. Try a Different Google Account: If possible, try signing in with a different Google account to see if the issue persists.

Please follow these good articles to review the Google Account sign-in troubleshooter or to know more how Set up Chromecast with Google TV and Voice Remote.

Let me know if you need further assistance.

Regards,

Mario
