New wifi and now I cant use my chromecast

Firstly, I am useless with technology!

I have had fibre installed at my house, so my wifi has changed. Now I cant access my Chromecasts. I have performed a manual factory reset. I have removed and reconnected from USB. I have downloaded the Google Home App, I have closed and restarted the app. No matter what I do Google Home cant locate the chromecasts when I search to add a new device. Help!

Why you just didn't rename the new wifi connection the same as was the old one also and also configuring the old wifi password on the new outer? This would have prevented you from having to reconfigure all your devices.

Hi folks,

Thanks for helping, @DDS90.

@cjohnson1, thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. The Google Home App uses the phone's Bluetooth and Location services to communicate with the Chromecast device during setup. If you have these on and were within 5 feet of them during setup but still failed to detect them, then you may need to try with another phone or device.

Let me know how it goes.

Thanks,

Kimy
