Chromecast saying local network fault, but I allow my local network setting

Thanks for reaching out here in the community! I'm sorry to hear you're unable to connect to the Chromecast due to the 'Local Network fault' error message, even after enabling the Local Network settings. Help's here!

To better assist you, I'd like to gather the following information:

  • What is the specific model and generation of your Chromecast device? Here’s a helpful article about how to identify the model of your device.
  • Is this inconvenience occurring during the setup process? If so, does it happen before you see the code on the TV?
  • Is the Google Home app updated?
  • Is your mobile device Android or iOS?
  • Can you describe the steps you followed to enable the Local Network settings?

In the meantime, I'd suggest the following:

  • Try uninstalling and reinstalling the Google Home app. 
  • Ensure the streaming device, the TV, and the router are within 15 to 20 feet of each other.
