Hi all
So I recently purchased a Google TV streamer. I wanted to get max potential using Atmos/Dolby vision from the Google streamer+ Anthem receiver. It is connected to a Anthem MRX540 receiver with reasonably good quality 8K HDMI ultra fast cables. Monitor/TV is a Sony Bravia (2015?) TV is connected using ARC to Anthem.
I set Anthem to do passthrough, and the Google 4k supposedly outputs every flavour of Dolby/DTS.
I cannot fathom that Atmos doesn't display on the Anthem, when watching Apple TV+, Netflix etc via Google TV. When using Oppo 4k player, it shows Atmos on MRX screen. I've done factory resets of Anthem, and also the streamer, swapped over HDMI cables, and used auto/manual with audio options on streamer......so immensely frustrating ;(;(
Any advice would be really appreciative 😉

Hi @darrent,
Thanks for reaching out in the Community forum. I'm sorry to hear you've had such a frustrating experience with your Google TV streamer and I'd be more than happy to look into this further for you to help provide a solution.
Have you tried changing the audio settings on your Google TV streamer? Also, as your Google TV streamer is connected through your Anthem receiver, try connecting your Google TV streamer to your TV directly.
Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.
Cheers,
Jonathan

Hi Jonathan
Thanks for your response. If I connect the Google streamer to TV, I won't get the sound through the receiver. The Anthem MRX 540 decodes virtually all the Dolby/DTS/IMAX flavours, also watching a 4k blu ray disc, the Anthem outputs /displays Atmos. As i said, have done resets on Anthem/Streamer, set pass through/auto settings on Anthem/Streamer, physically disconnected power from TV/Anthem/Streamer over night etc. No matter what I do, the only info that displays on Anthem screen is Dolby+,
The TV, a Sony 4k Bravia( about 2015) is only used as a monitor, everything else is connected to the Anthem via 8K HDMI cables( so using the Anthem like a swiching hub, I guess 😉
Cheers Darren

Hi @darrent,
Thanks for your response. I appreciate the information shared.
You're looking to achieve the maximum video quality with Dolby Atmos using your Anthem receiver and Google TV streamer. However, this isn't possible. The Google TV streamer supports Dolby Vision, HDR10, and HDR10+ for video, and Dolby Digital, Dolby Atmos and Dolby Digital Plus for audio. It doesn't support Dolby/DTS/IMAX for video.
You can find more detailed specifications for your Google TV streamer in the following article: Google TV Streamer specifications.
Please let me know if you have any questions from here, as I'd be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.
Sincerely,
Jonathan
