Power issue: Google TV logo and vibrating/flickering loading dots

If the Google Chromecast does not receive enough power, check the amperage. If the 'Google TV' logo appears and the loading dots are flickering/vibrating, it means the system is attempting to load the preview/OS but is failing due to insufficient power. Use a wall outlet instead of the TV USB port.

Hi @Mark61,

Thanks for posting in the community. I understand you're experiencing power issues with your Chromecast, as it gets stuck on the Google TV logo with flickering or vibrating loading dots. I appreciate the clear description of the symptoms; that vibrating animation is a specific indicator that your device isn't receiving enough stable amperage to boot the operating system fully. Don't worry, let's work together to get this resolved. To help with that, I have a few questions for you:

  • What type of Chromecast do you have? You can check out the following article: Chromecast & Google TV Streamer specifications.
  • Was there a recent power outage before this started?
  • How is your Chromecast receiving power? Are you using the provided power cable or a USB port on the TV?
  • What is the current status light on your Chromecast? Visit this article for references: Chromecast and Google TV Streamer LED light.
  • Is there any error code still displayed on your TV?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Cheers,
Jonathan
