Re: Chromecast Issue Update.

I’ve been able to cast up until today. Everything seems to be working fine except no app is able to find the chromecast (except google home). Neither google TV, Disney+, Youtube, Max nor Netflix can find the unit. I’m using a Chromecast Ultra and iPhone/ipad.

Hi Sjomaling,

Thanks for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that your Chromecast Ultra seems to be working fine, but none of your apps, except for the Google Home app, can detect it. I understand how frustrating it must be that apps like Google TV, Disney+, YouTube, Max, and Netflix can't find your streaming device. Thank you for providing important details such as using your Chromecast Ultra with an iPhone and an iPad. Don't worry, we're here to help.

Before I start further troubleshooting, let me ask you a few questions:

  • Are your iPhone and iPad updated to the latest versions?
  • Are you using the latest versions of the apps that are unable to find the Chromecast Ultra, such as Google TV, Disney+, YouTube, Max, and Netflix?
  • Is your Chromecast Ultra connected to the same WiFi network as your iPhone and iPad?
  • Have there been any recent changes to your WiFi network or home environment?
  • What’s the firmware version of your Chromecast Ultra? You can use this Google help center article as a reference: Find your device’s firmware version.
  • Is your Chromecast Ultra connected to a 2.4 GHz or 5 GHz WiFi network?
  • What steps have you taken so far to resolve this issue?

Thanks for your attention, and I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Best regards,

Virna
