Hello, well I've already done a reset, so this going to be a job in itself...
Do not factory reset your device..... HOOPS well that already done, simply followed instruction do to so!

Many of us restore the factory settings; it's an option you recommend. The problem is that they took a while to comment on the defect, so it's too late. I hope they find a solution for any situation and do it immediately. I feel cheated.

03-12-2025 08:10 AM
That's an insult. You're compromising your image. Enough with these futile games. Restore this right away, fix it right away.

How was I supposed to know that the usual fix for years (factory reset) was not the right one THIS time? Are you kidding? Or pulling our leg? Off Google products from now on!
03-12-2025 08:24 AM
I resetted my device first thing, what should I do now? Which is the solution in this case? Retry now?
03-12-2025 08:26 AM
Can you please give us an update?
03-12-2025 08:25 AM
Absolutely ridiculous that a trillion-dollar tech giant like Google can't fix Chromecast devices after THREE DAYS. Maybe spend less on AI nobody asked for and more on supporting products we actually paid for! Thousands of customers are sitting with useless devices while you have unlimited resources to fix this. Do better.

Couldn't authenticate your chromecast
03-12-2025 08:29 AM
Alguma novidade?
03-12-2025 08:36 AM
Two days have passed without any update from you on this issue, and it is disgraceful that such a simple malfunction has not yet been resolved. The fact that the only "solution" seems to be purchasing a new device is unacceptable, especially considering that the same problem could occur again even after buying a new one. This shows a complete lack of professionalism and respect for customers. I strongly advise against choosing your brand and encourage everyone to explore better alternatives, as well as to spread awareness of this situation across all social media platforms.
03-12-2025 08:36 AM
Lol the first move is power cycle and the second is erase and factory reset, how many people came here before doing that
03-12-2025 08:37 AM
No fix jet? Googlefixteam: we are still waiting. Not a few people but a whole lot of people all over the world.
03-12-2025 08:38 AM
What are we supposed to do if we already performed the factory reset according to the advice received on the help page within the home app?
03-12-2025 08:43 AM
It's been days!!!! I have guests that use that Chromecast who are staying with me. A day is understandable but I've had to purchase a new TV because its been days..... Google keeps letting everyone but the orange man down
03-12-2025 08:43 AM
I was told 4 days ago that it would be fixed in roughly 10 hours,And here we are 4 days later!!
care to give us an update on when it will ACTUALLY be up and running again??
In my opinion 4 days is a bit too long!
03-12-2025 10:19 AM
💯 With you!
03-12-2025 08:43 AM
Amazingly hihi
03-12-2025 08:44 AM
It has been 3 days and nothing works
03-12-2025 08:46 AM
Good nice 🙂
03-12-2025 08:45 AM
For this to happen with a company this size should be humiliating. For this to still not be fixed over three days later is completely ridiculous. If this isn't fixed by end of business tonight, I will be switching completely away from all Google products, systems and even my email. Absolutely terrible!
03-12-2025 08:47 AM
I reset it.... Waiting for tge solution unpatiently 😂😅💫

Temporary Workaround
If you own a Google Chromecast and suddendly stopped casting and if you did a factory reset to "fix it" do the following! It worked for me!
1) In your Android Mobile Device temporary set the date as March 8th, 2025
2) Using Google Home App, follow the instructions to add your Chromecast again
3) Set the current date again
4) Download the most recent binary of ActivityManager App (https://github.com/sdex/ActivityManager/releases) and install it
5) In ActivityManager App Click on the 3 dots > Intent Launcher > Edit the Action
For Android 11 or below set the action as:
For Android 11 or Highest set the action as:
Finally, in the Cast Debug > Enable Bypass Device
6) Open your preferred app to cast and test it out
NOTE: If you haven't done a factory reset follow steps 4) to 6)
DISCLAIMER: It's a temporary workaround, when Google officially releases a solution, I hope soon!. Remove the ActivityManager app or the action set.

Still waiting for a fix

So what do you suggest we all do in the mean time?
Here I thought I was doing something wrong and now nothing will load to the app & we can't watch TV -
03-12-2025 08:50 AM
I just deleted it from my Google Home and then tried to install. That did not work. Hope to see the proper fix soon. I miss my music.
03-12-2025 08:52 AM
What if we already followed the website directions to factory reset. Will the there be a fix for devices in that situation as well?
03-12-2025 08:53 AM

Bien cordialement
