Hola muchas gracias me funcionó así
03-13-2025 05:01 PM
Thank you, Condor. I had reset on Sunday and was worried about receiving the update. I followed your steps and it worked.
03-13-2025 05:08 PM

03-14-2025 11:10 AM
Thank you Condor that works 🤩
I have already did a factory rest a few days back, but I followed your steps , I manually reverted the date on my phone to March 7th and opened the google home app (iPhone) as I made a new connection it worked and automatically installed the latest update to my chrome cast. I reverted the date back now and it works perfectly!
thanks again

Muchos lo reseteamos. Hay que esperar la solución de Google.
03-13-2025 07:31 PM
Do the clock thing. Just made It and worked for me
03-14-2025 08:09 AM
How to do that
03-13-2025 06:20 PM
Tengo la misma duda, no entiendo bien qué debemos hacer. En las soluciones standard recomendaban resetear y ahora no tenemos solución?
03-13-2025 09:52 AM
I have done the factory reset in an attempt to get it working. It currently does not work. Please advise.
03-13-2025 01:01 PM
Fix was found by the community for those of us who factory reset. Simply set the date on your device to March 8th or earlier in your settings, then do your Chromecast setup through Google home. Hope it works for you!
03-13-2025 01:45 PM
Thanks. Was able to reconnect and see on network. Still no ability to cast regardless of date.. I guess we’re still waiting the fix rollout
03-13-2025 02:01 PM
Yes, now that you're connected the update should happen eventually. They say it's happening now but in small chunks.
03-13-2025 01:50 PM
03-13-2025 01:51 PM
Works to add it again, only it mentioned that it's not connected tot the same wifi network but I can see it again in the Google Home app, cannot play any music though.
03-13-2025 02:16 PM
Yeah, you basically just reconnected it to your Wi-Fi so it can receive the update when it releases. The Chromecast will unfortunately still be broken until then
03-13-2025 02:14 PM
How do you change the date if you already did the factory reset?
03-13-2025 02:26 PM
You need to change the date in the phone used with google home.
Then open the app and start the configuration.
This will make the chromecast show the photos. You won't be able to stream but you will be able to receive the fix when released.
03-13-2025 03:52 PM
You need to change the date on whichever device you are using Google Home to set up the Chromecast.
Change the date in your device settings to March 8 or earlier.
Add the Chrimecast as a new device in the Google Home app. This allows the Chromecast to connect to WiFi again so it is able to receive the update when rolled out.
Go back to your device settings and correct your date.
Wait for the update.
You're Chromecast will still not be functional for casting. It will be able to recieve the update
03-13-2025 06:41 PM
As soon as I change the date back my device disconnects. Any advice?
03-13-2025 02:24 PM
It worked for me. Ty
03-13-2025 03:24 PM
Brilliant!
03-13-2025 05:42 PM
How do you set the date?
03-14-2025 11:11 AM
Can I change the date back to original settings after it connects or do I need to leave the date on the 8th?
03-14-2025 03:37 PM
What do you mean on device like iPhone?
03-13-2025 02:25 PM
Set your phone date to 8 march or warlier them ypu can set up tje chromecast again from google home, still wont work for casting but atleast its back to being not factory reset
03-13-2025 02:28 PM
Reset the divice again but this time set the date back manually on your phone to for example febuary 28. Maby restart the phone too if it doesent work. You should be able to conect the cc to your wifi and then wait for the new firmware or do the reddit workaround.
03-13-2025 03:24 PM
Change your phone date to be before 9 march 2025 and try to connect it again to be connected to the wifi, waiting google update
03-13-2025 05:30 PM
It just bring it back to screen saver screen and still does not work
03-13-2025 04:26 PM
Same here! Hope we can get ours working again. It’s so frustrating
03-13-2025 09:56 AM
Thank you
03-13-2025 10:02 AM
When you say must be connected do you mean I need to keep it plugged in and the power on for the next few days?!
03-13-2025 10:35 AM
No i think they actually mean the chromecaster must be connected to the wifi or in other words it must be set up
03-13-2025 02:35 PM
Thats right.
03-13-2025 02:48 PM
Is anyone able to connect to their cc to wifi though? Since the issue started my device shows as offline and can't be connected... doesn't matter what I do i can't get it to connect... so does that mean I won't get the fix ?
