If you previously performed a factory reset, we’re happy to report that the Google Home app update will reach all users today.
Please make sure you’re on version 3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio. Check out this help center article if you need help updating the Google Home app.

Thank you for your patience as we worked to resolve the issue with Chromecast (2nd gen) and Chromecast Audio devices. As of today, this disruption has been fixed.
If you did not perform a factory reset, your device should now function normally. If it is still not functioning as intended check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
For users who have performed a factory reset, you will need to update your Google Home app to the latest version (3.30.1.6 for Android and 3.30.106 for iOS) to set up your Chromecast (2nd gen) or Chromecast Audio device again. The app roll out has begun and may take a few days to roll out to everyone. We’ll post a confirmation once the roll out to all users is complete.
We sincerely apologize for this disruption and any inconvenience it may have caused, and we are committed to ensuring all users are back up and running as quickly as possible.

Thank you again for your patience, we have some good news - the fix should reach all users today. If your device has received the update it should be on the following firmware versions:
Chromecast (2nd gen): Firmware version 1.56.467165
Chromecast Audio: Firmware version 1.56.467166
Check the firmware version of your device by following the instructions here. If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.
Please note: If you performed a factory reset during the troubleshooting process, you may still be experiencing an issue where you cannot re-setup the device. The team is working diligently to resolve this, and we will provide next steps as soon as possible.

Hola, estoy intentando vincular mi cuenta a través del teléfono móvil con la App de google Home y, aunque verifica el número del chromecast (7163) cuando tengo que escribir el código de verificación, la aplicación se queda colgada y muestra un error, sin dejarme insertarlo (el número que aparece en pantalla).

Ya he eliminado mi cuenta en el google Home y he desconectado varias veces el dispisitivo más de 10 minutos y también he eliminado la aplicaxion y la he vuelto a instalar, también he reseteado el wifi

I hope Google realizes that just about everyone of us did a factory reset before knowing we shouldn't be doing exactly what is, well was, advised to do in an event like which has occurred. Just for the record I'm still with no chromecast and I yes I am one of the many who did the factory reset before knowing any better. I hope they fix it.

Hello everyone you need to listen about setting the date back on your phone or tablet if you did the factory reset. It works. You get the update instantly and you can change the settings back on whatever device you did the initial install with. It works people. Si se hizo el reseteo de fabrica se puede cambiar la fecha del celular al 7 de marzo y de esa manera se conecta al wifi sin inconveniente. De ahí en más se hace la actualización sin inconvenientes. Luego devolver a la fecha actual antes de probar de entrar a Netflix, por ejemplo, si no tira error. Suerte!

Ya me funciona. Gracias Google. Sin embargo es una verguenza lo.que ocurrió. Me di cuenta que se soluciono cuando encenfinla tv y me aparecio una actualizacion. CERO TIENEN UDS EN COMUNICACION AL USUARIO CLIENTE!!! No hay comunicacion por ningun medio. El tiempo que mucha gente perdio. Mucha gente reiniciando a fabrica xq uds es lo que revomiendan.. ni hablar de aquellos que modificaron horarios. La verdad me sumaria a la demanda internacional que lei que van hacerle. La pregunta es como van a recompensar a sus clientes????

People make mistakes, companies make mistakes. Also, we're talking about a 10-year-old sub-$30 TV dongle. I think it's actually pretty remarkable that Google still supports it at all, given that it was released 10 years ago. That's pretty unheard of in the tech world.

Issue is fixed. Please keep your TV on after connecting to your Chromcast. Google will push the update and system will automatically update and your Chromcast will start working after few restarts.
