If your device is not on the corresponding firmware version, please try rebooting your device to start the update process.

Best regards

Hi,
Is the update done yet?

Just don’t worry. Everything is back to normal now. People who factory reset the chromecast 2 will not be able to install it using the GoogleHome App unless they set the installing Tablet/Phone’s date to a date prior to 9th March 2025. Just set the date to 7th March 2025 and follow the normal procedure to set it up as usual. You will end up with the thing installed without all its features still without being able to stream any media, DONT WORRY. Just power on the Chromecast in the same WiFi environment that you set it up and leave it on its own for sometime. Just open your Google Home App every now and then to check whether it has been restored to the normal status. Don’t leave the TV on continuously just to save power but have the TV power on whenever you check the restoration process. Also ensure that all Tv + your Mobile phone / Tablet and the Chromecast to be set are exposed to the same WiFi environment that you used to set up with the date change. Things will get back to normal after few hours. Don’t forget to set the date back to the present date of the setting instrument. Best of Luck to all!! I have 100% success after following the aforesaid procedure.

Comment as-tu changé la date ?
03-15-2025 10:27 AM
If you are using an android device, simply go to Settings -> System -> Date & Time -> Turn OFF "Automatic Date & Time" -> Set the date manually to 07 Mar, 2025.
Once done, try setting up the Chromecast via the Google Home app from the same Android device.
