In my case did not work until now. What I did is set the automatic date and time off , set the date to march the 5th , then I set up my Chromecast with Google home app . Took more minutes than the usual set up , but it worked !!!!

O meu tbm está sem funcionar! Já tem uns 15 dias!

Hola:

Thank youuuuu !! Thank you !!!!

It worked !

Oh shoot, that actually worked for mine! I factory resetted my device, so the update didn't work until I changed the date on my iphone as well. Thanks!

Hi how did you change the date on your iPhone ?!

Tried doing that but it still didn't find my Chromecast... I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong? So frustrating!

Brilliant, worked for me

Yes!! you are the best!! Thank you so much! I changed my phone's datetime to May 5th, then I setup my chromecast, then brought back datetime to auto setting, and only then the cast worked!!

You're a life savior! Thank you!!

How do you change the date on your iPhone ?!

Yes, this worked for me too. I got a bit worried when WhatsApp gave me an error message saying it would not work with the time set to a past date. I didn't open WhatsApp, carried on with the Chromecast update and then reset the time back to Automatic. WhatsApp works fine as does Chromecast now. So all good, thanks.

I did it and it works great, thank you very much, thank you, it works again, thank you, thank you

E come hai fatto pure tu?

Sul device dove hai installato l’app Google home vai su impostazioni generali, data e ora e disattiva data e ora automatica. Mettila manualmente al 5 marzo. Poi apri l’app Google home e fai aggiungi nuovo dispositivo.

Grazie!

Grandissimo. Non ci avevo pensato! Risolto!

Thanks for your help. It algo worked for me. I Just changed The mobile data tô befor march 9th and finally The problen Washington solved.

Genius! I had factory reset my 2nd Gen Chromecast when the issue first occurred and haven't been able to connect since. Until now, after following your instructions! 🙂

Confirming this works for Samsung Android: (1) change phone date manually (in phone settings) to 5th March date: (2) set up Chromecast again and wait for update bar to show as 100%; (3) change phone date settings back to auto / todays date. I've tested multiple streaming services and cast is successful. Thank you so much for the tip, Valwebbo!

Works on iPhone too!

Glad to hear it! 🙂

Also works with Google Pixel, of course.

1. go to settings, system, time and date, manually set to March 5th,

2. had to unplug Chromecast from power and reconnect to restart

3. go through setup process on Google Home on phone

4. Google Home got stuck at the end of the setup process, so I uninstalled and reinstalled Google Home from Google Play Store

5. re-set time and date to automatically update via network

6. works like a charme!

Thanks a lot! You saved my tiny little home!

I believe Youtube and other services won't work if the date in your phone isn't current...  Have you changed your phone settings back to auto / todays date?

It worked! Huge thanks
