Agree!

I knew something was odd when 2 of 4 Chromecasts went down...

I thought it was my WiFi/internet connection that broke …. Then I factory resetted one and go in that “I need to change the date of my phone to earlier “ because I did say early on on Reddit “10$ it’s an expired SSL certificate” 😉

Actually, I got here from doing a search in [competing search engine] after several full runs through the troubleshooting guide produced no results. It’s not exactly down a dark set of stairs behind a BEWARE OF LEOPARD sign, but this forum wasn’t obvious.

Unfortunately many of us have already reset the device because that's what we would do if we were having trouble and they do have to be reset sometimes

I have been having to reset mine on a weekly basis. The issues with this 2nd Generation device are constant. My 1st Generation device, on the other hand, still works splendidly.

I just force my time on my phone back to Jan 1st 2025 and was able to setup and configure the Chromecast. It did get an update as soon as it connected, now it's connected back to my network and added in Home. I changed my time back, and can now cast.

Spellbounding

I found my old 1st gen chromecast & it works..it says its offline, but it still streams or mirrors devices..weird

Seems like all this started around same time US got hacked from areas of Europe. Specifically X.. i wonder if its a coincidence or Coquinkadink

I already reset factory.

What do i do now?

Pls help to improve my phone device thank you

Thank you to your support

Infatti io l’ho resettato.

 Salam

Exactly what I did aswell still not fixed and still won't communicate with my devices

Yes, that is right, I did it, too 😳

Hi,

I can see the Chromecast in Google Home when I change the date to, say, March 8th but it disappears again when I set back to today’s date. So the ‘fix’ isn’t one.

Estaremos aguardando instruções.

How will I know when a fix has been msgs for those of us who did a factory reset?

You just need to set your device that connects to your chromecast back in time.

I have put my Phone back to a date before the problem and in google home I added the chromecast again.

So now it's there again, can't stream but ready to reeive the update from google.
