Be patient. It's coming.
You might be able to provoke the update by power cycling (plugging/unplugging) your Chromecast

Hi all,
I think I got to solve this issue.
I had hard reset the chromecast before reading the suggestion not to.
I set the mobile date to March 8th, and managed to reconnect the chromecast with the google home app, which successfully connected the device to the wifi (you can reset automatic date/time after adding the device to home).
At this stage I only managed to cast from laptop using VLC (not using google chrome) or from mobile using Youtube app (did not try other apps).
Against every of my hopes, the chromecast restarted and started to install the update (see photo).
Now it is correctly working, I can cast again from chrome on laptop e.g. from youtube.
Hope the fixing update will get to all of you soon!
Best

If you have done a factory reset on your chromecast, just set your date and time on your phone to 8th March 2025 and complete setup and then put your phone back to normal time 🙂

Is there a way if this happens again to be notified via email of this issue so we know not to factory reset. Unfortunately I made this mistake.
