I'm glad to see I'm not alone with this problem.
3 devices are unvailable to cast: 2 audio and 1 video dongles.
I tried to reset the video one but the process to reconfig fails.
I have no clue to solve that.

Shed TV may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPad. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your iPad’s privacy settings. Then try again. What is this for? I’ve reset everything

My Chromecast 2nd (or maybe 3rd generation) is not working since last few hours. I am not able to cast content from my smartphone to TV. I tried all the possible solutions given in Google support (troubleshooting) to connect it but nothing happened . 'Google Home App' is not reflecting my device title... I came to know from Reddit and other social sites that many users are facing the same problem since last many hours. Why is this happening? When will Google fix this?
03-09-2025 08:29 PM
Chromecast 2gen stopped working due to a certificate error .. I tried my spare one but got the same error ... Reserved bout of them and now they can't be installed in Google home .. it connects to them but times out during installation after connecting to them... And why do o fins out there is a problem on Reddit and trending searches on Google ... Instead from Google ...

Have 2nd gen w/ 275994 firmware, 24 Feb 25. In device info (that I can no longer access but screen capped) my Home is dimmed out/no permission. Says I have preview program (but shouldn't-do believe I opt out of everything) I didn't get the chance to click on everything else, because I was busy doing all of the resets/factory reset/reset router/hard phone reboot/uninstall-reinstall Home-so that, I am now stuck at the point of it telling me I cannot connect (strangely one time I was able to see notation that I needed to be connected to the same WiFi as my mobile device-however it clearly shows that both are connected to the same-however the CC will not complete the reconnect. It worked fine throughout the day. It is, however, as though I do not have 'control' or permission on my CC device however. BUT am the only one in the 'home' and the only Admin. I'd replied to a Diamond contact, can't remember where in this place, so am doing a stand alone post. I DID try to write down everything, and did get that screen cap-because I think that holds an answer. AI glitch or coding bug? It can't be from the update after this long of time, imo. I see this is not a locality issue, so am trying to provide as much info as I can, to maybe help this along.

Any idea when Google will fix the problem with the certificate for gen2 Chromecast users ? It's been down for 12 hours already.
03-09-2025 08:46 PM
I get an error code S S C R-
S 4 0 1 0-2 2 0 3 -
2280-G

Chromcast won't connect, worked fine this morning. Tried a factory reset and now I'm getting a "cannot authenticate" error message. Fix it google. And if you killed the 2nd gen I'm taking my business elsewhere and not buying your next product
03-09-2025 09:01 PM
My Chromecast also having authentication problems.
03-09-2025 09:17 PM

Hey folks,
The device was working for years and all of a sudden it stopped working.
it says
TV may be set up, but we could not communicate with it from your iPhone. Make sure that you have enabled local network access in your Phone’s privacy settings. Then try again.
I resettled/factory Reset multiple times, manually connected to Chromecast ID but then the Google Home doesn’t finds it.
reset modem, tried everything that I know.
can someone please help
