Remote cannot control volume or power on TCL Roku TV

I have been through numerous help threads and Reddit posts about this. CEC is enabled on both the TV and chromecast. I have power cycled my TV and the chromecast. I have paired and repaired the remote to the TV. I have attempted to map the power and volume buttons numerous times using TCL, Roku, and about 10 other TV manufacturer settings. I have tried to control the volume and power on both the remote and my Google home app. 

None of these things have worked. I cannot control volume and power of my TCL Roku TV. 

I have tried the chromecast on another TV. It works just fine and can control all functions of the device. 

Sadly, this function is a deal breaker for me. I will return the chromecast and not recommend it to others if this can’t be fixed.

Thanks for posting and for being a step ahead of us. We’re sorry for the trouble, and this is not the experience that we wanted you to have. Based on your description, it seems that your Chromecast with Google TV is working as intended, just as it worked on another TV. It can’t be helped since this is a TCL Smart TV with built-in Roku, which is a competitor (Chromecast built-in). Let us know if you have other questions or concerns.
