Chromecast with Google TV 2020
Samsung TV with HDMI CEC support
Issue: my TV is not responding when shutting down with chromecast remote.
My TV is however responding when turning ON and changing volume with chromecast remote.
I have another (old) streaming box, my TV responded to all remote commands.
The Chromecast uses the same HDMI-port.
What can I do to get the remote to work fully, thus also turn off the TV?

Chromecast 2020 devices, like other smart streaming solutions, support HDMI-CEC (Consumer Electronics Control), a feature that allows devices connected through HDMI cables to communicate and control each other. For instance, HDMI-CEC lets users control their Chromecast using their TV remote, simplifying the streaming experience.
However, some users encounter issues with HDMI-CEC functionality on their Chromecast 2020. Common problems include:
Remote Control Incompatibility: The TV remote may fail to control the Chromecast or may not work consistently, despite HDMI-CEC being enabled on both the TV and Chromecast. This issue can arise from specific TV models that have limited or buggy HDMI-CEC support.
Delayed Response: There might be a delay between pressing a button on the TV remote and the action occurring on the Chromecast, disrupting user experience.
Turning On/Off: Some users face problems where their Chromecast does not turn on or off with the TV when using HDMI-CEC, requiring manual intervention to control the device.
These issues can often be resolved by checking HDMI-CEC settings, ensuring firmware is up-to-date on both the TV and Chromecast, or testing different HDMI ports. In some cases, a restart or reset of the devices may also help resolve HDMI-CEC-related remote control issues.

Hi @JohnPaulNL!
Thank you for posting in the community, and to @johnMiddas for the recommendations! I'm sorry to hear that your TV is not responding when shutting down with Chromecast Voice Remote. I'm happy to help you!
Let's try some troubleshooting steps:
1. Check that HDMI-CEC, also called Anynet+ on Samsung, is enabled.
2. Add the TV to control.
3. Set up the power button:
Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.
Best regards,
Geremi
