Remote stopped turning off chromecast but not tv

My remote has stopped turning off my Chromecast but all other functionality is fine, including turning off my TV. Not sure why it'll power off my TV but not the actual device it's supposed to work with. Any suggestions to fix it?

Just to clarify, the remote is designed to help turn your TV on and off and control its functions once set up. The Chromecast device can only be turned off by disconnecting it from the power source.

Thank you for responding! It doesn't make sense that it wouldn't turn off the Chromecast itself also though. It used to, I've had it for a few years and it's only been the last few weeks that it stopped turning off the Chromecast as the same time as the TV. I'm assuming it was a software update. Kind of annoying, because it's creating extra steps for me when I shut everything down for the night. Hopefully this is fixed in the next software update.
