Good Evening!

I am in the process of setting up a JubileeTV device for my mother-in-law.  She recently moved into an assisted living facility, and the cable is run old school, dormitory style, where there is one feed that is split to every unit in the building.  The cable company stopped offering cable boxes several years ago, and the assisted living is a "legacy building."

Fast forward to why I am posting on here.  The JubileeTv needs an HDMI input, which without a cable box, makes her live TV Channels pretty much worthless.  She does have internet, so that led me to look at Streaming TV options for her.  We landed on YouTube TV, and a Google Streamer 4K.  The problem is, with the YouTube TV App, there is no way to set it to default like a TV Guide.  It always defaults "home" and she is unable to navigate to the "Live" tab.

Enter the Live Channels feature that is native to the Google Streamer.  This would fix the problem (with the YouTube TV Subscription) as the channels import into it.  The problem is the 150+ free channels.  These clutter the guide and make it too confusing for her.  I have tried and tried, and I have not been able to find a way to disable these from showing in the Live Guide.  Is there a program that I can disable using ADB that will remove them?  Is there is a hidden feature where they can be turned off?

Or Google, can you make them removable?  Roku does this with their Live Guide, it's very tedious process, but you can hide them all.  The only problem with a Roku Device is that YouTube TV app does not populate the Roku Live app.  It is supposed to, according to my Google Searches, but it's spotty and I could not get it to work.

Any help you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Hi @ZKeeton,

Thanks for reaching out to the community forum. I'm sorry to hear you've had such a frustrating experience with your Google TV streamer, and I'd be more than happy to look into this further for you.

Since the Live TV tab offers shortcuts to the various guide categories, there is currently no way to turn it off on your Google TV streamer. I understand that this isn't the answer you wanted to hear. However, I recommend you send us feedback using the method available in the Home app. It helps us develop new features, improve existing ones, and ensure our devices are meeting your needs.

Please let me know if you have any questions from here, as I'd be happy to take a closer look and assist you further.

Cheers,
Jonathan

Thanks @sicsacol

I have submitted feedback.  If Google is able to implement this change as soon as possible (which is a big as for a large company), it would be incredibly helpful!
