Solid remote light during pairing after factory reset

I am trying to re-pair my Google TV after a move. I did a hard factory reset on the Google TV (held the button on the device). Now the screen is asking me to hold the left arrow and home button to pair the remote, but it won’t register. The solid light is on on the remote. From searches, it seems this means the remote is stuck in update mode. I’ve let it sit for an hour hoping it would cycle through, but no luck. I can’t use my phone to pair as other posts have suggested because this device isn’t paired to my new home’s Wi_Fi network yet. Any suggestions?

Hey Cschuma2,

Thanks for reaching out — let me help you out.

A few questions: are you still using the original battery? If so, try using a new one but make sure it's not a lithium-ion or any other batteries with rated voltage above 1.5 V. Try resetting your Voice Remote using the steps below:

  1. Check that the batteries in the remote have remaining charges.
  2. Remove the batteries from the remote.
  3. Press and hold the Home button Voice remote home button.
  4. While the customer holds the button, ask them to reinsert the batteries.
  5. Hold the button while the LED light is solid.
  6. When the light starts to flash, release the button.

Let us know how it goes.

Regards,

Alex
