Streamer/TV shut off randomly when connected to an ARC port

As someone else has mentioned, when my streamer is connected to my soundbar and then also connected to an ARC port, the streamer/TV just shuts off and has to reboot.

This has happened at least once a day so far until I connected it to a regular HDMI port.

Hoping this can be patched and fixed one day as the audio is much better in the ARC port.

Hi ztks,

Thanks for reaching out. I understand that you have inconvenience when you connect to an ARC port. Let me help you with this! Google TV Streamer 4K is compatible with an HDMI port and HDMI 2.1 cable; that is why it shows the black screen when you connect to an ARC port.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Regards,
Manuel

Hi maedacortez,

That explains nothing. Also, It's not a black screen issue, it's a whole device is randomly turning off issue when connected to an ARC port issue.

Hi ztks,

Thanks for your reply, I need to ask some  questions to understand better your situation.

  • Is the Google TV Streamer connected directly to the TV?
  • Is there a soundbar or AV receiver connected to the TV?
  • Are there other devices connected to the soundbar or AV receiver?
  • What kind of cables are you using (eARC or ARC, optical audio cable)?

I will be awaiting for your response.

Regards,

Manuel
