TV Streamer Hard Drive anot Detected

Jamie-Risner

I have tried every possible arrangement and whatever I do, the Google TV Streamer cannot detect my correctly formatted hard drive. It just doesn't see it.

Any tips on what might be going wrong? Really at the end of my tether having mainly bought the device for this functionality and bought a hard drive and USB hub specially...

Hi Jamie-Risner,

Thanks for posting on the community. I'm sorry to hear about the situation that you experienced with your Google TV Streamer and your hard drive not being detected. I understand how difficult this can be. Don't worry; help is here.
Here are some requirements that you have to check first:
Requirements:

  • A compatible USB-C hub with a power delivery port
  • A USB-C charger providing more than 1.5A / 7.5W
  • A portable storage device such as a USB stick, SD card, or external hard drive (USB 2.0 or faster is required)

If you have all these requirements, you can try these setup steps:

  • Connect the streaming device to the TV’s HDMI port.
  • Plug the USB-C hub into the streaming device.
  • Connect the USB-C charger to a power outlet, then to the power delivery port on the USB-C hub.
  • Connect your USB storage device to the hub. They should receive a prompt to reformat the device.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
Jenny
