TV Streamer device causes ARC connection problem

I recently replaced a Chromecast with Google TV device with a Google Streamer and am having ARC connection problems with the new Streamer device.  With the Chromecast device installed, the A/V receiver  powered on about 10 seconds after the TV was powered on.  With the Streamer installed the receiver turns on in about one second and the ARC connection frequently fails requiring a power recycle of the A/V receiver.  I don’t see any settings on any of the devices which would resolve this problem.

Hi mbg530,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the ARC connection problem that you are experiencing with your Google Streamer device. But don't worry; help is here. In this case, I just need to ask for some information to provide the best solution:

  • Please provide the model names of your TV, soundbar, and AV receiver.
  • What is your setup like?
  • Is the Google TV Streamer connected directly to the TV?
  • Is there a soundbar or AV receiver connected to the TV?
  • Are there other devices connected to the soundbar or AV receiver?
  • What kind of cables are you using?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Jenny
