When I searched to determine if we could use two Google voice remotes with our Chromecast with Google TV, I found https://www.googlenestcommunity.com/t5/Chromecast/Does-Google-Chromecast-with-Google-TV-Support-2-re.... The official answer is incorrect. My Chromecast with Google TV works perfectly with two Google voice remotes (I bought a second remote from the Google Store). My Chromecast even allows you to name the remotes in the settings.
My bedroom unit is a newer, HD model. I've ordered a second remote for it, but I haven't received it yet, so I can't confirm if this capability is unique to the 4K unit, yet.

Hi FEPcoder,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. We appreciate the intention of requesting a correction, but what was shared on that thread is not incorrect. If having two Chromecast Voice Remotes works for you, that’s great, but we still don’t recommend it. You may have managed to pair (via Bluetooth) both remotes to one main Chromecast device, but it’s a different story now if both remotes control other devices via infrared. And it’s more complicated when multiple Chromecast devices are now involved with multiple remotes in one household. I remember a complaint back then when one of his remotes turned off an active TV whenever he turned on another TV. If your current setup works for you, that’s great, but it's not applicable to everyone. I hope this sheds some light on the situation. Let us know if you have other questions or concerns.
Thanks,
Kimy
