Unwanted Content in "Continue Watching" List

dietercito

For the past day, my "Continue Watching" list has been randomly showing content from "Mercado Play" that I haven't watched and that has never appeared there before.

I suspect it's related to my Google account, as it disappeared when I switched accounts. Even after deactivating the Mercado Play app, it continues to happen.

The only change before this was logging into YouTube (which had "kicked me out") a few hours earlier. I have a Smart TV TCL with Google TV, a Google TV Streamer, and a Chromecast 4K, and on all of them, using the same account, this suggested content keeps appearing for "Resume Watching."

Even after I delete it, it keeps appearing randomly, in different languages, and sometimes even with repeated content.

I'm not sure if I'm posting in the right place, but... can you help me?

Hi dietercito,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing an issue where the "Mercado Play" content persistently appears in the "Continue Watching" list across all your Google TV and Google Streamer devices. I appreciate the information you provided and the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I understand how frustrating it can be when things don't work as expected. But don't worry; help is here.

Here are some steps that you can try to disable the "Continue Watching" list:

  • Go to the settings on the Google TV.
  • Look for the option "Apps only mode" and turn it on.

This option will hide Google's recommendations and the "Continue Watching" list from your home screen. You can enable this option any time you need it.

Another recommendation will be to delete the "Mercado Play" app.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenny
