Why does the chromecast not connect

Ronaldlubach
Community Member

Problem:

Impossible to connect Chromecast HD devices (I have two chromecasts and I tried both) to the wifi network "Odido-2F5DEA".

signal strength strong.(I am close to zyxel modem) and wifi password copied and pasted and entered manually.

Restart both the Chromecast HD devices and the Wi-Fi router.
Disconnecting and reconnecting the power cables of the Chromecast HD devices.
Adjusting network configuration:

Trying a different wifi channel on the router.

Performing factory reset on both Chromecast HD devices.
Trying another cell phone or tablet before installation.
Network connection verification:

Confirm that other devices (tablet and phone) can connect to the Wi-Fi network "Odido-2F5DEA" without problems. Cell phone and tablet do connect to the network.

Despite performing all the above steps, the problem with connecting the Chromecast HD devices to the wifi network "Odido-2F5DEA" has not been solved.

Hi @Ronaldlubach ,

Thank you for reaching out to the Google Nest Community team! I'm sorry to hear about the inconvenience you’re facing when trying to connect your Chromecast devices to your WiFi network. I'll do my best to find a solution for you.

Since you already performed some troubleshooting steps, I need to better understand the situation. Please help me by answering the following questions:

  1. What is the LED light status on both Chromecast devices?
  2. Are you seeing any error messages on the TV?
  3. Does the setup process get stuck at any particular step?
  4. Were both devices previously connected to this Wi-Fi network?
  5. I assume you have two TVs. Have you tried switching the Chromecast devices between the TVs during the setup process? If so, please let me know.

Please feel free to let me know if there is anything I can do to help.

Best Regards,

Jonathan
