YouTube app blank screen

Anyone experiencing YouTube app issue.  When I access the app it's just black screen. Every other app works properly.

Thank you for your reply. It’s very helpful to know that you're using the Chromecast with Google TV and that the issue started recently.

The options you're looking for, such as "Clear cache," are located within the system settings rather than on the main apps screen. I recommend starting by clearing the cache for YouTube by following these steps:

  • From the Google TV home screen, go to your profile icon in the top right and select Settings.
  • Select Apps, and then select See all apps.
  • Scroll down and select YouTube.
  • Select Clear cache and hit Ok.

You can also restart your Chromecast with Google TV by unplugging the device from the power source for one minute and then plugging it back in.

I've tried your method, and clearing the cache worked! The APP is now up and running as usual

  • What device are you using to open YouTube? Is it a Google Nest device?
  • When did the issue start?

hi Daniel, thanks for replying. to answer your questions : 

  1. I am using the Google Chromecast with Google TV. 
  2. The issue started just in these 2 weeks, around mid Feb. 
  3. I don't know how to trouble shoot, there are no "update" or "uninstall" or "reset" options on the Google TV.
