For the last few days we have not been able to use the YouTube app on the Chromecast with Google TV in our living room. The app opens to a YouTube logo and attempts to load. But it will spin for awhile then give option to try again or check our network connection. The network is fine, the connection is strong. We have reset the device, reset the router. Cleared cache and all data. Force stop. Uninstall and reinstall in the app. Finally, we did a factory reset on the device. None of these has worked. All other apps and services are working as normal on the device. The issue is specific to the YouTube app. We have another Chromecast with Google TV device in our bedroom and it is working just fine, so I cannot understand this. We are also YouTube Premium subscribers so it is extremely frustrating that this issue persists.
