cec controll suddenly stopped working

I have a chromecast 4k connected to a "older" JVC tv, set up to 1080p.
It has worked without any problems, up until recently.

For some reason that i don't understand the cec function is no longer working.
The chromecast is connected directly in to hdmi 1 on the tv, it's the only thing connected to the tv.

I have tried swapping batterys, resetting the remote, reconecting the remote, resetting the chromecast unit it self.
But i can not for the life of me get the volum, power or source select buttons to work.
Updated  the unit and the remote. still not working

Not sure if this will help, but I have an older 1080p Samsung TV connected to a CCwGTV.  It's configured to control the volume of my sound bar as well as turn on/off the TV when I turn the Chromecast on/off via its remote.  Around last December, I could no longer get the TV to turn on/off with the Chromecast remote.  Tried checking everything related to the Chromecast with no luck, power cycling, etc...  Then just this past week we had a 2+hr blackout and the next day, magically the remote triggered the TV power again via CEC/HDMI.  Not sure what fixed it -- possibly the TV itself needed a reboot?

Hi TommySaevik,

Thanks for posting in the community!

So sorry to hear that the voice remote is not working as you expected. In order to get this solved as soon as possible, we can try some steps that might help:

  • Perform a factory reset of the device.
  • Unplug the Chromecast and turn off the TV.
  • Plug in the Chromecast and turn on the TV.
  • Press for a moment the power button. This will start on the Chromecast by looking for devices to pair.

These steps should help resolve this scenario. If you're still having questions after following these steps, let me know.

Best regards,

Nery.
