I am trying to set up Chromecast on my Android TV (SONY Bravia) to connect with my iPhone. Everything seems fine through the process and I can connect it to my Wifi (get a "connected" message). Then it tries to update the Chromecast software but can't. Instead I get an error message "cannot reach Internet." I don't know how this can be since it previously said I was connected!
I have unplugged, reset the device, removed it from Google Home and added it back. Same results every time. Not sure what else to try.

Thanks for the suggestion. I have worked through those steps, but to no avail. I was able to update my TV's system, clear caches, etc. I was not able to update the Chromecast built-in app despite trying in several different ways. I'm not sure why that might be, but I do think it's the root problem not allowing me to use the Chromecast device. I have returned the unit to the retailer.

Hey there,
I'm really sorry to hear that you had so much trouble with that Android TV. Since you returned the device to the retailer, I'll go ahead and lock up this thread. If you have any more issues in the future, feel free to make a new thread.
Thank you for helping GSAllen out, Ashepherdson!
Best regards,
Jeran
