"MIXED" USB storage

On my Fire TV 4K Max, I can format a USB drive as MIXED, i.e. a portion of the drive is for app storage and a portion can be used for movies or other data.

I would like to do the same thing on my Chromecast with Google TV (running Android 12). Is this possible? Can someone point me to a how to?

I found one article that described how to do it with ADB commands but it was for an older version Chromecast and I got stuck in Downloader when I was unable to find an APK for ADB.

Hi bsmorgan,

Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community. A Chromecast with Google TV (HD/4K) has 8 GB of storage capacity. Unfortunately, it can’t be expanded or partitioned. There may be users or vloggers who have found ways to do so, but we don’t recommend it as it may affect how the device functions. Feel free to ask if you have further questions.

Thanks,

Kimy

Kimy,

I'm terribly confused because your answer seems be at odds with section 3 in the following article:
