Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a Chromecast with Google TV (or Google TV Streamer) and I am facing problems during the initial setup process. I connected the device in order view site to my TV using HDMI and powered it on, but I am unable to complete the setup successfully.
The main issue is that the device either does not connect to Wi-Fi, gets stuck on the setup screen, or does not appear in the Google Home app on my phone. I have tried restarting the device, resetting my router, and reinstalling the Google Home app, but the problem still remains.
Has anyone experienced a similar issue while setting up Chromecast with Google TV or Google TV Streamer? What steps should I follow to fix this problem or i get insurance for this and complete the setup correctly?
Any help or guidance from community members would be greatly appreciated. Thank you! 😊

Hey Emma, sorry you’re dealing with this! Since you’ve already tried restarting the router and the app, here are the two most likely fixes:
1. Check the power (Super common issue)
Are you plugging the USB cable directly into the TV? If so, switch to the wall outlet using the power brick that came in the box. TV USB ports often don't have enough power for the setup process, which causes the device to freeze or drop Wi-Fi.
2. Factory Reset the device itself
Since a software restart didn't work, try a hard reset. While it's plugged in, hold down the small button on the back of the Chromecast/Streamer device for about 10–12 seconds until the light turns solid white.
Also, double-check that Bluetooth is on and that the Google Home app has "Local Network" permissions enabled in your phone settings.
Hope this gets it working for you!
