I have Home assistant running with a matter server. I can change the channel of the open thread border router, and i did that.
As the google tv streamer has also a thread border router, I wanted to be sure, it uses the same channel. But, I can't find it, which also means, that i can't change it....
Any idea's ? Want to be sure, both border routers are in the same thread network....

regards,

stefan

Hi @stefanuyt

I am going to escalate your post over to our Community Specialist for some help on this.

I don't believe you can change the channel but the Specialists should have better knowlege than I do.

Hi, @stefanuyt,

Thank you for reaching out and sharing your concern about your Google TV's Thread border router. I'm happy to help.

Regarding your concern, the Google TV streamer can act as a thread border router with Google Home; also, your Google TV streamer can create a new thread network or join an existing one.

Please provide the following information:

  • What is the make and model of your smart home device?
  • What is the make and model of your mobile device?
  • What WiFi router are you using?
  • Are you receiving any error messages from the app?
  • Is the Matter device paired with its native app?
  • Do you have other border routers in the same matter ecosystem?
  • If yes, is Google TV Streamer (4K) your primary Thread border router?
  • How many matter devices are on their Thread network?

Please try to follow these troubleshooting steps:

  • Verify power: Ensure your Google TV streamer is powered on.
  • Check if the Google TV streamer and the phone used to set up Matter end devices are connected to the same network.
  • Thread is enabled.
  • Restart your Google TV streamer.
  • Make sure everything is updated on your TV.
  • You have the latest version of the smart home app and Google Home app.
  • Set up the thread network.

Additionally, @JillG, thank you so much for your help.

Please let me know how it goes.
