Look and talk stopped working

This has been working fine, but suddenly it stopped working. The dots show that I am looking at the screen, and the color bars show I am speaking, but it just doesn't respond. The app clearly shows the function is turned on.

I read in December about the rollout of the app draw for the Google Hub Max. I bought one in January in Japan, but it never got the update with this feature. Is it available in Japan?
