You are correct though that the vendors app and lights specifically say it will only work over 2.4. That's why I had to change my wifi to choose the channel and setup initially.I just can't work out how their app allows my phone to move bands to conn...

Thanks David. Interestingly the lights work no probs via their app (smart life) and my phone. So assume it's forcing the app and phone to use 2.4ghz.The issue is always with Google home app.So obviously Google home is always trying to access this in ...
