I’m using the new Cync as well but haven’t experienced your issues. My advice would be to reset the bulb to factory settings and in doing so you will update the bulbs’ firmware. That may solve the issue.

Make sure to use the bulb’s native app (found in the bulbs instructions) and use WiFi (not Bluetooth). Then transfer control to Google home.
