If it makes you feel any better I ended up buying a brand new Thermostat E as things were taking so long via Google! I needed a new base but you can’t actually buy parts so I had the privilege of paying £140 for an entire new system.Good luck!

Turns out the base wasn’t charging the face of the thermostat and, as there’s no way to change the power cable, I’ve had to resort to buying a whole new system. It would have been nice to have had a response from Google on here or to the email ticket...
