Thanks to everyone for the help, but for now at least the difficulty of getting access is greater than my need to have access. Too tweaky.I'm leaving this in Uncle Bob's lap. He will set the temp remotely, not me.

I looked at the guide. It's not clear about what account I need access to.Note that I did receive an invitation, and when opening up Home after accepting the invite I did not see any way to access the thermostat or any other device.
