Basic Nest Thermostat will not connect to Wifi, even with correct password

Even when I cut and paste the correct password I still get the error message: "Couldn't connect to Wi-Fi." The Wi-Fi works with every laptop, phone, TV, etc. in the house so this is not a problem with the network. Now what?
