Installed a Nest Thermostat v1.4, which appallingly there is so little supporting information and it doesn't work with the Nest App. Irrespective, within 2 days, the OEM batteries showed "Low Battery." So I replaced them with good alkalines, and now ...

Jake, no that isn't helpful. I know all that. I had batteries in and receiving low battery message with 3.15v. I have new batteries in that show battery ok with 3.13v. (But this will fail soon, as I have replaced batteries several times)

My voltage is steady at 3.15v .... so, ya it makes no sense that I went from good battery to low voltage to very low voltage.... all the while at 3.15v
