Google door bell chimes indoor. Home but will not connect or show blue or yellow light.

I have a Google nest door bell that will ring indoor. Home but will not show blue or yellow light when hooked up. I cannot get it set up be. Abuse of apparent lack of power. Checked wiring twice. Both wires connected tightly. HELP
