Phone dead - how can I control Nest w/o it?

Is there a way to change the settings on the Nest without using a phone? My phone is charging and it's cold in here!

Mine doesn't have the ring, but I found that just running my finger up and down the right side I could adjust the temperature. Thanks for the clue!
