Usually nests do not work well with stranded wires or those are not 24v systems. Anyways your issue is common where your furnace isn’t cycling often enough to keep the battery charged in the nest. If you have an extra wire tucked in the wall, you can...

could you post a picture of your setup? Are you using a 24v common wire usually blue when you wire it? Without the common wire, many nests run into power issues.
