Time delay before 2nd stage heating starts

Does anyone know how to set a longer time delay before 2nd stage heating or cooling kicks in? I don't mind being a little cool or hot (in the summer) and don't mind waiting in 1st stage for the temperature to stabilize. Thanks.

I don't know the answer, but mine is doing the same thing. It's like it goes to sleep and then wakes up when it detects motion.
