I've confirmed that I don't see a noticeable delay using a Nvidia Shield or Onn Box. So far the issue seems to only occur with the Chromecast. I'll be moving the Chromecast to a different room with no Dolby.

I'm not able to easily try another TV but I did change out my Vizio soundbar to a different brand. The issue is much less pronounced (maybe a second or so before the sound returns) but it's still there. Interestingly, this doesn't happen with a Fire ...

Thanks. Coming to that conclusion as well. I don't see the same problem with my Fire Stick so I was hoping there might be a fix via configuration.
