Same problem with two new Google cams. Setup fails at the last step,
then I get a "something went wrong" error. Two calls to technical
support. They couldn't get it to work either.
I spoke to two reps on two different days. First rep concluded it was a
hardware problem. Then the same thing happened on a second new camera.
Second rep escalated to higher level; they couldn't fix it either. That
