Look through the replies... many people have found a fix by setting up directly with google tv remote, not the google home app

Try a factory reset and select Set up with Remote - this fixed it for me

You can solve doing a factory reset and setting up with remote rather than Google Home on your phone. See my full comment for walkthrough
