Using a Nest as a remote thermostat for a garage heater

Hooking up a garage heater and wondering if a Nest Thermostat can function as a “remote thermostat.” Here’s a wiring diagram from the install guide. Curious to see if it would work and if it would get power from the heater…any input is appreciated!
