Using a Nest as a remote thermostat for a garage heater

Hooking up a garage heater and wondering if a Nest Thermostat can function as a “remote thermostat.” Here’s a wiring diagram from the install guide. Curious to see if it would work and if it would get power from the heater…any input is appreciated!8C5F1E32-EA82-4B2F-8AE3-5431B032F336.jpeg

UK?

I don't know the output of the US stats, but so long as you can install a contactor between the output of the stat, and the heater, anything is possible.

The stat will just switch the contactor coil, then the coil will close the circuit for the contactor, and power the heater.

I don't know the US regs etc., but that's the principle.

I looked at the website for King-electric.com and it says to use a 24 volt thermostat you need to use a 24v transformer and a relay purchased separately and it says to contact the factory for correct options.

Yes that sounds feasible. The thermostat is just a glorified switch, and so long as the switch can carry the load, or the switch can operate a relay/contactor anything can but operated.

You will need further advice as I am not familiar with your regs etc., but one way or another you can get it working.
